Humana Using Whitehill Software to Improve Consumer Communications

One of our business units sends almost 2,000 faxes daily using IStream Communicator. Our Medicare, commercial and specialty business units combine to produce approximately 250,000 printed documents per month
Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) June 3, 2007-- Whitehill Technologies, Inc. today announced that Humana, one of the largest health benefits companies in the United States, is using IStream Communicator from Whitehill Technologies to improve correspondence with its health plan members.

IStream Communicator lets business users create ‘model documents’ that control the language, layout and look of customer correspondence, such as renewal reminders or responses to claims. By filling in a few fields—such as customer name or policy number—Humana is producing personalized client letters and faxes in just a few seconds.

"One of our business units sends almost 2,000 faxes daily using IStream Communicator. Our Medicare, commercial and specialty business units combine to produce approximately 250,000 printed documents per month," said Dennis Grusnick, Vice President – Information Technology, Humana. "Through business growth and expanded corporate use, we expect the volume to increase to upwards of 2 million letters per month by the end of 2008.

"IStream Communicator allows us to easily roll out processing to new business units with minimal effort on behalf of IT. We have been able to streamline correspondence and communicate a clear and concise message to our members by using IStream Communicator. Being able to quickly distribute professional, personalized documents allows Humana to deliver on its commitment to guide consumers through the complexities of the health care system."

IStream Communicator lets users design documents in an easy-to-use, interactive environment. As data or standard wordings change, insurers can automatically update their documents to reflect those changes. Leveraging industry-standard applications—such as Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF—gives insurers the power to create and update documents easily as part of their normal processes.

"Whitehill has maintained a positive working relationship with Humana for many years," said Paul McSpurren, President & CEO, Whitehill Technologies, Inc. "They are a leader in using technology to enable outstanding customer service, and Whitehill is gratified to be a part of that effort. Our goal is to give insurers the speed and flexibility to respond rapidly to changing market conditions, and bring new products to market quickly."
