Protexx Implements Secure VPN for Initial Signup and Credit Card Purchases on its Website
New purchase options from website are now twice as secure than from other e-commerce sites. Software offers Invisibility on Wireless Networks and Security for Information Exchange. Protexx secures wired and wireless Internet access with low cost, portable, 2048bit encryption software resulting in total invisibility for the user.

Most E-Commerce sites offer security for your information once it arrives at their secure website, but the transmission path to the website is almost never secure. Corporate employees who utilize their company's vpn hardware system are not secure in wireless environments either
Deerfield Beach, FL (PRWeb) February 1, 2007 -- Protexx announced today that the *initial* handshake information used to procure Protexx from its Website is now encrypted at a 256 bit rate making it twice as secure than from a 128 bit encrypted site. By implementing a secure private vpn for signup purposes, Protexx becomes one of the first companies to secure the initial transaction simultaneously with its own vpn product. In doing so, the user and transaction is protected from the eyes of the internet information thieves. Once the software is purchased and fully downloaded, subsequent transmissions are encrypted at up to 2048 bit, making that transmitted data "invisible" to all but the recipient.

"Most E-Commerce sites offer security for your information once it arrives at their secure website, but the transmission path to the website is almost never secure. Corporate employees who utilize their company's vpn hardware system are not secure in wireless environments either", says Peter Letizia, President and CEO of Protexx. "These individuals must still authenticate themselves to the vpn hardware making the user name and password portion of the process vulnerable to a sniffing attack. Protexx alleviates the problem by wrapping the vpn within another tunnel or by totally eliminating the vpn hardware altogether. Either way the result of using Protexx Data Guard is that all data transmitted from the device is invisible to all but the recipient that includes user names and passwords credit card and financial information given to supposedly secure sites."

"The ramifications to the wireless hot spot user are enormous," says Jami Graham, marketing director for Central Florida Wireless, a Hot Spot administrator. "This is the one security tool that everyone who logs on to a wireless networks needs right alongside their antivirus and firewall. The invisibility factor alone greatly enhances the overall effectiveness of the antivirus and firewall. First time buyers of the software from unsecured wireless networks can now feel more secure that their information is safe."

The Protexx, Data Guard, S.I.T.H. (Secure Information Transmission Highway) software is a high encryption (up to 2048 bit) VPN (Virtual Private Network) used to secure data transmissions in both wired and wireless environments without hardware. The Data Guard Software resides on the client's device and seamlessly wraps the data transmission with up to a 2048 bit encryption tunnel. The tunnel is routed to one of three network operation centers where it is decrypted and passed on to the recipient, effectively making the client device and the transmitted data invisible to its wireless surround as well as any wired network. The return path to the client is also encrypted from the recipient.

Data Guard is the only standards based, portable, certificate based, downloadable, high encryption software that can be used by individuals as well as small business and large corporations and spans a broad range of devices and transmission vehicles (Satellite,
Broadband, Cellular etc). The portability factor alone makes the software cost effective for large corporations. The fact that the software is certificate based assures corporations of security reporting and compliance issues that are now mandatory in most industries and can be audited daily, instantaneously.

Coupled with a Biometric Clip Drive Protexx provides for a three factor authentication surpassing all compliance regulations for HIPAA, Sarbanes Oxley and Gramm-Leech-Bliley. In terms of compliance the key rules under each of these Acts include The Financial Privacy Rule which governs the collection and disclosure of customers' personal financial information by financial institutions. It also applies to companies, regardless of whether they are financial institutions, who receive such information. The Safeguards Rule requires all financial institutions to design, implement and maintain safeguards to protect customer information.

Protexx Data Guard is available as a download from Protexx secure website, protexx.com for as little as $4.99 a month or by calling 877.823.7789.
