"Helicopters are very different from fixed-wing planes in numerous respects," explained Robb. His purpose in writing the article was to help aviation attorneys avoid the pitfalls of treating a helicopter crash case as an ordinary plane crash case.
"Helicopters have unique flight and performance characteristics as well as completely different mission profiles," said Robb. Many of these flight regimes are hazardous including urban law enforcement, border patrol, air ambulance, news-gathering, fire-fighting, and sightseeing operations.
Robb is well-known within aviation circles as a helicopter crash lawyer. He has the two highest jury verdicts in helicopter crash cases in U.S. history, a $350 million jury verdict on behalf of a pilot killed in a helicopter crash and a $70 million verdict on behalf of a passenger killed in that same crash. His recent $38 million settlement on behalf of a young woman badly burned in a helicopter crash in the Grand Canyon is by far the largest settlement obtained by a helicopter crash attorney.
