Suwanee, GA (PRWeb) February 28, 2007 -- Four-time NBA All-Star Mark Price, along with Suwanee Sports Academy, a player development company, has announced details about a suite of basketball training programs for professional players at the Sports Academy's metro-Atlanta facility. Price, one of the greatest shooters to ever play the game will provide specialized training opportunities for professional and draft eligible players as well as elite college players.

"I was able to successfully compete at the highest level of basketball and that success came from my knowledge of the game and strong sense of the fundamentals," explained Price, who is the NBA's all-time leader in career free throw percentage. "Many top players in today's game struggle fundamentally, especially with shooting the basketball. I will provide them with the tools to become better shooters and better all-around players whether they are an NBA veteran, a player preparing for the NBA or a college player with a professional basketball future."

Suwanee Sports Academy's metro-Atlanta facility provides the perfect setting for Price's training with seven NBA regulation-sized courts, a full-scale weight room, on-site physical therapy, strength, speed, quickness and agility programming and the first-of-its-kind Mark Price Shooting Lab, featuring state-of-the-art shooting technology to analyze a player's shot.

"A lot of players in today's game are looking for shot training and the Shooting Lab is unmatched in the country to provide this type of specialized instruction," commented Price, who spent most of his NBA career with the Cleveland Cavaliers. "The Sports Academy has successfully provided player development programming through its' nationally-recognized On Court Player Development program for athletes from kindergarten through high school. I am excited about being able to lead our commitment to now extend the training offerings to the college and professional market."

Price will hold two Draft Prep Camps for draft eligible players in preparation for pre-draft individual workouts and the pre-draft camp. The Mark Price Perimeter Camp will provide training for pro guards looking to find an edge before team training camp begins while "College Week" will offer training for the country's elite college players. Mark Price will also be available to professional players and teams on an as needed basis to provide shooting and perimeter player development training.

"Mark built his career on fundamentals and this is exactly what is lacking in the game today," commented Cleveland Cavaliers General Manager Danny Ferry. "I had the opportunity to play with Mark and for him to provide his experience and knowledge of the game to today's players is certainly a benefit to the game."
