Anti-Flag's Spring Tour Supports African Well Fund
Punk band Anti-Flag has partnered with the African Well Fund for its upcoming spring tour. The band will be donating a portion of its pre-sale ticket sales to African Well Fund's clean water projects in Africa. African Well Fund volunteers will be manning informational tables at selected shows throughout the tour. Schenectady, NY (PRWeb) February 16, 2007 -- The African Well Fund (AWF) is excited to announce a partnership with Anti-Flag, the Pittsburgh-based punk band. Anti-Flag is donating a portion of their presale ticket sales from their upcoming War Sucks, Let's Party tour, to help fund African Well Fund's clean water projects in Africa

The 31-city tour kicks off on March 8th in New York City and wraps up on April 22nd in the band's hometown of Pittsburgh. AWF volunteers will be manning informational tables at some of the shows throughout the tour. Anti-Flag will also be joined by Alexisonfire, Big D and the Kids Table, and Set Your Goals. For more information on tour dates and tickets, please visit www.anti-flag.com .

Anti-Flag was formed in Pittsburgh in the mid 90s by long-time friends, Justin Sane and Pat Thetic. Inspired by artists and activists such as The Clash and Woody Guthrie, they have managed to make music "as desperate and gritty as their hometown." Anti-Flag's political activism has led them to past partnerships with Congressman Jim McDermott, Amnesty International, Student Peace Action and many other people and organizations who are striving for positive change. Their partnership with AWF continues this tradition. As band member Chris #2 stated, "The members of the community that surround our band's messages and music are always looking for victories to carry our optimism and hope for the future. Anti-Flag and the African Well Fund working together are providing that for everyone who wants more from their art than just concerts. All of us together are providing positive change in this world."

The African Well Fund is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization that was founded in 2002 by a group of U2 fans. Since that time, AWF has raised more than a quarter of a million dollars, which has been used to fund more than 68 clean water projects in sub-Saharan Africa. African Well Fund is partnered with Africare, one of the leading private, non-profit, charitable organizations assisting Africa. All of AWF's donations to Africare go directly to fund clean water projects in Africa. The African Well Fund was founded to focus on one achievable goal: providing access to clean water to everyone in Africa. The African Well Fund believes that access to water is not merely a basic human need but a basic human right.
